SPLASH 2020 (series) / Doctoral Symposium / Improving User Experience of Static Analysis Tools [ECOOP DS]
Improving User Experience of Static Analysis Tools [ECOOP DS]supported by Facebook
Static analysis tools help detect bugs and security issues in program code and thereby support the development of high-quality programs. However, software developers often omit using them due to usability issues. Research has shown that workflow integration and specialized user interfaces (UIs) are important to improve usability. This proposed research project contributes new concepts for specialized UIs incorporating developer input for displaying relevant analysis results or even recommending next bugs to fix.
